Been reading in some magazines of the new MOT changes that will soon be required in the test. What if any of these changes will effect the Impreza most. I imagine it might have more impact on classic cars that have seen many restorations or upgrades during their lifetime. Items that are not original on car or items that may have been removed and might need replacing? Rolling Eyes

I think heavily modified road/track cars will be the worst effected ie airbags removed,  fixed bucket seats etc.

ive an omp steering wheel fitted to my car in place of original.
be interesting to see if the tester can prove it is not original especially when i have no airbag light on.

also on emmissions its amazing how a full decat system can pass.

my mot is due middle of march so will let you guys know how i get on.

cheers

I also read that the cost is about to increase as well? I think many people will be in for unwanted bills.  Sad

MOT aint going to be the killer its people running aftermarket HID kits,
since they stand out a mile from normal bulbs the cops will be pulling everyone over.easy money from fines ,

as you need to have auto headlight leveling and headlampwasher and also the correct lenses fitted for the beam pattern,

so from the simple info above, cops stop u they can prove there and then if they aint a standard fit,

im just glad i own a hawkeye Wink

I have never seen as many out of alignment and blinding headlights, do know one local here who was pulled for noisey exhaust and driving with fog lights when weather was OK. Wonder now if we need to download a printout to take to view a particular second-hand car, so that we know how the vehicle was manufactured and was was added? Th edvisory issue on MOTs can knock quite a bit of selling price. I am still looking for decent original sti but now in the mire to get original unaltered one. Remember the first car leaves Glasgow this Sunday at 6.30pm, the best place to view them is at Traffic lights Mauchline cross, as they can be stopped by lights and last year several pulled in for water etc. Laughing

Meant to add Mauchline for Monto Carlo Rally Historic cars.
